Farmers Insurance is scheduling a Mobile Claims Center (MCC) bus to attend the Hot San Jose Nights car show. The MCC is used as a command and claims processing center in areas damaged by hurricane, tornado, flood, or fire where customers are in need. When not on scene of a disaster, the MCC represents Farmers at community and charity events. When deployed to a disaster, the MCC becomes the foundation of a virtual city. Hot meals are
served to Farmers customers and non-customers affected by the disaster.
High-speed internet access allows claims adjusters to help customers settle claims, and the flat-panel tv on the side of the MCC allows visitors to see news updates. Each MCC is equipped with: seven workstations, technology that allows 70 claims adjusters to work outside the bus wirelessly, generator, satellite tv, cellular, VoIP and landline telephone capabilities, an inflatable tent to use for shelter or storage and other equipment necessary to assist people in need.

Last weekend the Lions were on the prowl at Willow Glen’s Dancing on the Avenue. We were there, helping the Willow Glen Business Association by selling sodas and water to keep the neighborhood hydrated, and in good spirits. Over a dozen of our Willow Glen Lions showed up to support the event. In good spirits and with the beautiful weather, we passed out fliers about our upcoming event Hot San Jose Night’s Lions Family Fun Center, which will take place July 7th-10th at the Santa Clara County Fairgrounds. Our fearless leader, Lion Rick, passed out Lion Balloons to kids, keeping a smile on everyone’s face.

As the summer approaches, The Willow Glen Lions are gearing up for Mike Hennessy's Hot San Jose Nights. Last year the Willow Glen Lions served hundreds of meals to those attending Hot San Jose Nights, and this year we will be doing so much more! Come see us at the Santa Clara County Fair Grounds this July 6th - 10th to see what we will be cooking up this year. The Willow Glen Lions will also donate proceeds to three charities, Services for Brain Injury, Canine Companions for Independence, and Santa Maria Urban Ministry.

Last year in July, we started the first annual Willow Glen Lions Pancake Breakfast at Hot San Jose Nights, hosted by Mike Hennessey, which was a great success. Some of the helpers for this event came from Bellarmine College Prep in San Jose. Conor Lyons, Adam Cortez (who is now our youngest Lion Member), and Noah Salvi helped were amongst those. We were recently informed that Noah Salvi has won an award for serving the community in a BIG way, with over 1000 hours dedicated in helping the community at large. The Mercury News celebrated this, as well as Bellarmine. Showcased was his involvement with the US Army, raising money for the American Cancer Society, and Helping send students to Diabetes Camp with the Willow Glen Lions.Bellarmine College Prep Link: Click Here
All of at the Willow Glen Lions are proud of your success Noah and we cannot wait to see what other great things you will do to serve the community. Lions are founded on basis of serving the community. Our motto “we serve” is the core of every Lions Member. We are always looking for new and egger members, ready to work and help serve the community.
