Willow Glen Farmers Market
The Willow Glen Famers Market is a great place to get fresh produce, buy flowers, and support the Willow Glen Lions. Every Saturday on Lincoln Ave you can find the Lions at a booth engaging in the community and asking for eye glasses for donation. If you see us please stop by and say hello!
- Backpacks for Kids (for our local elementary schools, along with the Almaden Super Lions Club)
- Blanket Drive (again, with the Almaden Super Lions Club)
- High School Speakers’ Contest
- Hot San Jose Nights – Pancake Breakfast and other activities (our club’s signature charity fundraising project). In 2010, we used our charity funds to sponsor scholarships for kids going to the Diabetes Society camps.
- Peace Poster Contest (for Middle School artists)
- Trick or Treat Trail monitors and crossing guards (with the Willow Glen Business Association)
- Used Eyeglasses Recycling (for distribution to the needy in Mexico and elsewhere)
- The Willow Glen Lions helped raise much-needed funds for Services for Brain Injury by providing all the food for an elegant wine tasting at Joseph George Distributors on October 29,2010. There were about eighty guests in attendance and the hors d'oeuvres and cookies received much praise.
